A diamond-form pin tray in Wedgwood's uncommon terracotta jasper, the well centered with a white relief of a classical maiden mourning at a pedestal — a poignant neoclassical figure — framed by a delicate border of oak leaves, acorns, and quatrefoil florets. Terracotta is one of the harder jasper grounds to find, and the warm clay tone gives this little tray a softness that the standard blue can't match. Impressed WEDGWOOD MADE IN ENGLAND to the reverse. Excellent condition with crisp, well-defined sprigging.
