A salad-size plate in Wedgwood's lilac jasper — among the rarest and most sought-after of all jasper grounds — the rim ringed with six white classical sprigs of muses, dancing figures, and seated maidens at their pursuits. Lilac was produced in far smaller quantities than blue or green, and its soft mauve tone is unmistakable to collectors. A piece that reads as both serene and quietly special.
