A Victorian glass jar cradled in an ornate gilt-metal mount — beaded collar at the rim, and a scrolling rococo base that lifts the whole piece up onto four little cabriole feet. The milk-white glass is hand-painted with soft tangerine and ochre poppies trailing across the front, finished with the raised enamel dots that mark the better Victorian dresser pieces (the decoration nods strongly to Wave Crest–era work, though it carries no mark). A true boudoir object — meant for cotton or trinkets on a dressing table, equally at home holding nothing at all.
Condition: Gilt mounts show expected mellowing and minor wear to high points. No lid present (sold as jar and mount).
