Old Paris Reticulated Dish in Cobalt & Gilt

A beautiful example of Old Paris (Vieux Paris) porcelain. Pierced rococo gilt rim, deep marbled-cobalt panels, and a hand-painted bouquet at the center. The openwork edge — gilt scrolls you can see clean through — marks the better pieces, and the gilding still catches the light beautifully.

Dated by its previous owner to c. 1850–1891 and labeled "Old Paris." Unmarked, as these almost always were — which dates it before the 1891 country-of-origin import law.
