A genuine Florentine tray, hand-gilded over carved gesso and wood, made in Italy (stamped on the reverse). The deep lapis ground is worked with a gold baroque cartouche and scrolling acanthus, framed by a scalloped, hand-carved handle on each end. It comes with a set of [4] matching coasters in the same blue-and-gold palette — each a different motif, including a classical Roman coin medallion, a rosette cluster, and a fleur-de-lis. The gilding has softened beautifully with age, with the gentle wear and warm patina that only come with decades of use. A true neoclassical statement for a bar cart, ottoman, or vanity.
