A Florentine tray in the prettier register — soft turquoise beneath the gold rather than the usual all-over gilt — with a scrolling damask medallion at the center and shell-carved handles at either end. The blue worn through to gold at the high points gives it the faded-fresco look these do so well. Equally at home corralling perfume bottles on a vanity or standing on a plate easel as the gilt object it really is.
